Silent Countdown

For the last month or so I feel like time has been consumed by this silent countdown to May 10th. Equally so, I’m sure it will feel like an subsequent countdown to June 21st. Two days that have so much emotion and significance wrapped up in them. This is never the way anyone imagines feeling on their first Mother/Father’s Day. The anticipation is already difficult. Surviving the actual days will be a different story all together.

Bobby and I are parents. These days are significant for us too. We know this and the people close to us know this. Which we are both very grateful for. No matter how we’re categorized by most people, we can still hold our children close to our hearts.

There are so many times when we celebrate or mourn silently, by choice or reluctantly. Just because others are blind to our emotions doesn’t make them any less real. Sometimes silence is just easier. Not any less significant, just less complicated.

Happy Mother’s Day to ALL the mothers in the world.

Yes, you are a Mother...and a Father. It is wonderful that you have people that recognize that around you. Some days it does hurt more than others, and some days we remember more than others. The point is that we (here in blogger land) remember, and you remember. We're here for you.
Happy Mother's Day to you as well.
